HOW PEERLY WORKS

A local network created by the phones around you.

01

Discover

Find nearby Peerly users through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct.

02

Verify

Add a trusted contact using the built-in QR code handshake.

03

Chat

Send messages directly between devices without mobile data.

NEARBY DISCOVERY

Find people around you without a phone number.

Peerly does not require accounts, email addresses, or phone numbers. Nearby discovery helps you find another Peerly user in the same area, while the QR handshake gives you a simple way to verify the person.

Offline-first messaging

Keep a local communication option available when mobile networks are overloaded, unavailable, or out of range.

Direct connections

Messages travel between nearby devices instead of passing through a central Peerly server.

Use a QR code handshake to confirm that you are adding the correct person.

A simple in-person way to add trusted contacts.

Show your QR code or scan someone else’s code to exchange connection details. It is designed for quick, face-to-face setup before you start chatting.

ABOUT LOCATION PERMISSION

Used for nearby discovery—not for tracking you.

Android requires location permission to scan for nearby Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices. Peerly does not track, store, or share your GPS coordinates. Location is used only for nearby-device discovery and is not required when connecting manually.

READY WHEN THE NETWORK ISN'T

Keep Peerly on your phone before you need it.

Install the app, add your trusted contacts, and keep a direct offline communication option ready.
